Greenfix erosion control products vary from biodegradable pre-seeded blankets and permanent turf reinforcement mats (TRM’S) to un-seeded blankets and meshes in biodegradable and permanent materials. Restoring the natural state and biodiversity of rivers requires green infrastructure to reduce any further impact on the environment. Greenfix supplies a full range of products used for de-culverting and urban river works where hard landscaping may have been in place for many years. Embankment Stabilisation and Erosion Control River embankments are often exposed to erosive conditions, which can cause damage often leading to the failure of the embankment itself. Greenfix offers many solutions to embankment stabilisation and erosion control, including cellular confinement systems and biodegradable or permanent blankets and meshes. The biodegradable erosion control products are suitable for water velocities up to 6.5m/sec, with the permanent solutions allowing for higher flow rates when used with ground anchors. The cellular confinement system allows for velocities of up to 9m/sec. Vegetated bag systems are also available and work successfully to line riverbanks. These bags are flexible and conform to the contours of the riverbanks. Greenfix also supplies a range of products that offer scour protection. These products can be provided in the form of either confined rocks or natural coir material. Sediment/Silt Control Sediment control products are supplied by Greenfix including those designed to control sediment along the riverbed downstream from construction, and those targeting silt suspended in the water column.
