2014 Riverprize Now Open!

International RiverFoundation is now accepting applications for the 2014 Riverprize awards. For the second year running, there will be three prize categories to choose from – the Australian Riverprize, the IRF European Riverprize or the Thiess International Riverprize. The Riverprize awards are intended to not only give reward to those who are achieving outstanding results, but to provide those organisations with the appropriate recognition and prestige to enable them to build new partnerships, expand and improve their programs so that they may continue to achieve success.

International RiverFoundation is delighted to announce the three Riverprize winners for 2013. The Thiess International Riverprize and Australian Riverprize winners were announced at the Riverprize Gala Dinner on Tuesday 24 September, as part of the International Riversymposium in Brisbane, Australia. And our first IRF European Riverprize winner was announced on Thursday 12 September at the European River Restoration Conference in Vienna, Austria.

The River Restoration Centre Manual of River Restoration Techniques is an on-line case study manual developed for river /drainage channel managers. Environment minister views pioneering river restoration project in the Cairngorms National Park

In Scotland, the Minister for the Environment and Climate Change, Paul Wheelhouse visited Carr-Bridge in the Cairngorms National Park on Monday 29th April to view ‘shovel ready’ projects including a pioneering river restoration project, instigated by the Spey Catchment Initiative, which will help to restore valuable riparian habitat and contribute to flood alleviation downstream.
