Central Southern Water Resource Challenges Seminar

Date:
Thursday, July 11, 2019 - 09:30 to 16:30
Location:
Crowne Plaza Hotel, Caversham Bridge, Richfield Avenue, Reading, Berkshire RG1 8BD United Kingdom

Central Southern Branch invites you to join them for their annual seminar which will review the current evidence and research on the availability of water resources now and in the future, under the joint impacts of climate change, planned economic growth and the growing need to protect the environment.

Speakers will include experts from Defra, the Environment Agency and Natural England, who will review the policies and strategies in place to achieve sustainable development.

Water companies and their consultants will outline the impact of the latest climate projections on the likelihood of future droughts and resource availability, and the methods they are using to assess the risk of droughts and inform plans to maintain water supplies.

Case studies will be used to illustrate and compare the challenges and approaches both nationally and in other countries.
