The River Waveney Trust (RWT) along with the Norfolk Non-Native Species Initiative (NNNSI), Norfolk Biodiversity Information Service (NBIS) and the Environment Agency (EA) are co -hosting an Action Workshop at Bungay Riverside Centre on Saturday 23rd June, between 10am and 4pm. The Suffolk Branch of Butterfly Conservation will also be contributing to the event.

This is a FREE drop in event and should appeal to anyone, both young and old, who has an interest in conservation and the environment. There will be: hands on activities, including pond dipping and environmental games. There will also be guidance on how to identify and manage invasive species, both on land and water, as well as guided walks along the riverside.

A series of talks and presentations will be given throughout the day on topics such as; Invasive species, Becoming a River Watcher, Recording Wildlife and Flood Management.

The hope is that this event will give people the knowledge and enthusiasm to become ‘River Watchers’, recording the wildlife and reporting on the status of the river and its environs.

Light refreshments will be available all day.

IF YOU ARE ABLE TO HELP ON THE DAY, OR PROVIDE A CAKE FOR THE REFRESHMENT STALL, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
