Hydroecology and the fine sediment conundrum: quantifying, mitigating and managing the issues

Date:
Tuesday, July 5, 2016 - 23:00
Location:
Loughborough University

This meeting will consider the fine sedimentation cascade in its broadest sense and will feature three invited keynote talks: Dr Gary Bilotta (University of Brighton) speaking on ‘Detecting the impacts of fine sediment?’; Prof. Adrian Collins (Rothamsted Research) ‘Mitigating excessive fine sediment loss to rivers from agriculture’; and Dr Chris Extence and Richard Chadd (Environment Agency) ‘A new approach to the monitoring of deposited fine sediment in rivers and streams’.

It aims to bring together those with an interest in hydrology, fluvial geomorphology and aquatic ecology including consultants, river and water managers, policy-makers, stakeholders and researchers working at the sediment-ecology–flow interface.
