Projects:

Falkirk Leaky Barriers (Completed: September 2025)

Design of a headwater natural flood management scheme to reduce downstream flood risk by increasing flood storage and restoring hydromorphological function. Measures included leaky barriers and floodplain reconnection to intercept flows, promote out-of-channel storage, increase surface roughness, and slow runoff, enhancing attenuation and floodplain connectivity.

Beverley and Barmston Drain (Completed: )

Catchment-wide optioneering and stakeholder engagement project to reduce flood risk to agricultural land. Analysed and prioritised nature-based solution options for future delivery stages, working with landowners, regulators, and partners to assess feasibility, funding pathways through Agri-environment schemes, and long-term implementation potential.

Tucklesholme Nature Reserve (Completed: September 2023)

Optioneering and design of a river and floodplain restoration scheme at a former mineral extraction site to increase flood storage and restore ecosystem services. The completed project created a dynamic wetland system incorporating drawdown zones, backwaters, and diverse riparian habitats, delivering improved hydromorphological function and flood resilience.

Fluvial geomorphologist specialising in river restoration, floodplain reconnection, and catchment-scale natural flood management, with over 7 years of professional experience in the conservation sector prior to moving into consultancy. Experienced in delivering restoration in a working environment, leading hydromorphological assessment, design, and delivery within complex regulatory and land-use settings.
