Projects:
Tiviot and Arden weirs are significant barriers to ecological and geomorphological processes on the River Tame in Greater Manchester. This project is developing detailed designs for their removal or modification that will deliver extensive environmental benefits for the river. Tim is lead geomorphologist and project manager responsible for overall delivery.
Tim is leading the development of detailed designs for the restoration of the River Irk at Alkrington, Greater Manchester. The scheme includes floodplain reconnection and in-channel enhancements in a constrained urban setting. As well as leading geomorphology assessment and design, Tim is project manager and has coordinated multidisciplinary technical inputs.
Tim is leading assessments on the River Meavy to evaluate possible impacts of Burrator Reservoir on geomorphological processes in downstream reaches, focusing on bed material composition and mobility. This included a detailed walkover survey (fluvial audit), reach-scale geomorphic process classification and mapping, and recommendations for future monitoring and assessment.
