Membership to RRC

The success of the River Restoration Centre (RRC) is entirely dependent on the active participation of all sectors involved in river and water management. If you are directly or indirectly engaged in activities relating to the management of the vast resources of our rivers, the RRC can provide you with support and advice. Membership is open to individuals, statutory and non-government organisations, companies and consultancies.

Membership subscription prices have increased from April 1st 2024, having remained the same since 2018.

Corporate Membership – Covers ALL UK offices and staff - £1295 plus VAT

• RRC Members - all staff - Membership is accessible to everyone within all UK offices.
• HALF PRICE RRC ANNUAL CONFERENCE SPONSORSHIP DEAL - 50% discount off Full Sponsorship package for the RRC Annual Network Conference.
• Inclusive Project Support and Technical Advice - Includes 20 hours of consultancy project advice time (not including travel costs). Please note additional time available at discounted day rate

• Discounted Training and Site Visits - 30% discounted member's rate fee for RRC events. All staff can attend RRC Workshops/Training Courses, Members site visits and the RRC Conference at the discounted member's rate. Please note that Members Site Visits are free to members, subject to availability*.
• Inclusive Job Adverts - up to 3 job advertisements would be promoted on the RRC website, in the RRC monthly bulletin, and through social media posts (Facebook and Twitter). (Non-member rate £150 each)
• Promotional opportunities - Your organisation promoted on the RRC website and in the Annual Network Conference: Delegate Handbook as a Corporate Member with your organisation logo and a short company profile. You will also be mentioned in the opening speech of the RRC Conference and your logo displayed on the big screen. On the RRC website current members’ page: your organisations logo, linked to your website and social media platform and a short company profile. Your own dedicated web page showcasing River Restoration projects that you have been involved in and your contact information.
• Professional Practitioner Listing - three people are eligible for a Practitioner listing on the RRC 'Contractors and Consultants' webpage. This showcases the expertise and experience of key staff in your company, based on recent exemplar schemes. Many of our current Practitioner Listings rank high on google searches, and are used by clients compiling tendering lists. Download the form here.
• RRC Logo to display - Our logo will be sent to you to add to your website to show your customers that you are Corporate Members of RRC for the year.

Business Plus Membership – Covers ONE office - £562 plus VAT

• RRC Members - 7 - Covers 7 named members of staff from one office and only those 7 people can access the river restoration expertise or be eligible for any other discounts.

Individual Membership – Covers ONE person – not for business use - £80.50 (includes VAT)

• RRC Member - Covers one named person and only this named person can be eligible for discounts. A personal email address, home address and bank account must be used.
• Inclusive Project Support and Technical Advice - Access to river restoration/enhancement project information through RRC centre staff (for use in display material, locating case studies, suitable example site visits, etc.)
• Discounted Training and Site Visits - 30% discounted member's rate fee for RRC events. The named member of staff can attend RRC Workshops/Training Courses, Members site visits and the RRC Conference at the discounted member's rate. Please note that Members Site Visits are free to members, subject to availability*.

Student Membership – Covers ONE person – not for business use - £40.25 (includes VAT)

• RRC Member - Covers one named person and only this named person can be eligible for discounts. A university/college email address, home address and bank account must be used.
• Inclusive Project Support and Technical Advice - Access to river restoration/enhancement project information through RRC centre staff (for use in display material, locating case studies, suitable example site visits, etc.)
• Discounted Training and Site Visits - 30% discounted member's rate fee for RRC events. The named member of staff can attend RRC Workshops/Training Courses, Members site visits and the RRC Conference at the discounted member's rate. Please note that Members Site Visits are free to members, subject to availability*.

^*  Our site visits are restricted to a maximum number of attendees.  To ensure we allocate places fairly we operate a first-come first-served basis, but at the same time we may restrict the number of attendees from all organisations.

Championing the natural & social benefits of restoring our rivers for a sustainable future

RRC has been an independent not-for-profit organisation since 1994. We pride ourselves on providing independent, impartial and fair advice to all organisations interested in rivers. Our members ensure that we can continue acting in this role for the river restoration community of practice.

Facilitate networking, sharing and learning

Events such as the RRC Annual Conference and Members' Site Visits bring the river restoration community together and encourage networking and learning. The RRC Bulletin shares the latest news, events and best practice with the community.

Provide independent support and advice to all

We always provide advice to those enquiring about rivers and best practice restoration. This ensures that no one is left without support and those that come to us will be encouraged to follow current best practice.

Celebrate and recognise the dedication of individuals

RRC runs the River Champions Award which recognises the work that individuals do outside of their day to day roles to improve their rivers. These are inspiring individuals who give up their own time to benefit their environment and community. This award is not currently funded and relies completely on the support of our members.

Develop and maintain tools and resources

With your support we are able to continue developing resources and make them available to all on our website. These include our manuals, case studies and factsheets which will continue to provide guidance and support for your next river restoration projects.

Collect evidence and knowledge

We are continually updating our project database with case studies, techniques and images. This information is an important resource for the river restoration community which is used in project planning and research. Your membership helps us to keep the database up to date and ready to support you in those projects.
