The RRC is excited to announce the appointment of three new directors to its Board, who will be joining in October 2025. The Board of Directors brings together leaders from both the public and private sectors, ensuring a strong balance of perspectives and expertise. The Board plays a key role in ensuring that the River Restoration Centre (RRC) remains effective, efficient, and forward-thinking. Many board members are directly involved in the practical, day-to-day work of river restoration, offering valuable insight into current challenges and best practices. Others contribute their skills in business planning, strategy, and governance, helping to strengthen the RRC’s long-term vision and sustainability. Together, this diverse group of directors provides essential guidance as the RRC continues its mission to support and promote effective river restoration across the UK.
Meet our three new directors:
Ellen Hebdon joins the Board from Biomatrix Water Solutions, where she serves as Operations Manager. With a strong background in senior leadership, operations, and financial management, she brings organisational skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to connect people with nature and support sustainable environments.

Richard Ashby-Crane joins us following his recent retirement as Head of Sustainability & Environmental Services at Jacobs. With over 35 years’ experience in environmental leadership, river and wetland restoration, and providing sustainable solutions worldwide, RAC brings deep knowledge and practice of both strategic planning and project delivery to the RRC.

Alison Baker joins the Board of Directors from the Atlantic Salmon Trust. With extensive experience in restoration strategy, organisational transformation, and national angling representation, she brings expertise and passion for naturally functioning river systems benefitting people and wildlife.

We welcome all three new board members to the RRC team!
