Thames WaterBlitz

Friday, September 13, 2019

Get involved in this European Citizen Science research project, and help by sampling water quality in the Thames Valley. This is a free opportunity open to anyone within the Thames Valley (check by entering your postcode in this online map). The WaterBlitz is a 4 day event run by Earthwatch where volunteers use water testing kits to collect as many water quality samples as possible. The aim is to get an overview of the water quality in rivers, lakes, ponds and streams throughout the Thames Valley.

This autumn take part in a WaterBlitz near you! Alongside our regular Thames WaterBlitz, delivered in partnership with Thames Water, we have partnered with Royal Bank of Canada to help research institutions in Dublin, Luxembourg, and Paris to run events in each city from 20th - 23rd September 2019. By doing this, we will be able to directly compare water quality data collected at the same time across Europe.
