River Mease Restoration Featured in The Guardian Following UK River Prize Win

Wednesday, May 20, 2026

We are delighted to see the River Mease restoration project featured in The Guardian following its success in winning the 2026 UK River Prize, awarded by the River Restoration Centre (RRC)

The national coverage highlights the incredible collaborative effort led by the Trent Rivers Trust to restore the river over the past 13 years, transforming habitats, improving water quality and creating thriving wetlands for wildlife.

As the organisation behind the UK River Prize, we are proud to recognise and celebrate projects such as the River Mease that demonstrate the power of partnership-led river restoration and inspire similar action across the UK.

You can learn about all four of this year's River Prize winners and watch the videos about their projects here.
