Invitation to Tender for Great North Fen River Restoration & Wetland Creation: Discover Brightwater

Friday, January 17, 2020

Discover Brightwater have released an Invitation to Tender for Great North Fen River Restoration and Wetland Creation - Phase 1 Design projects.

You can view all the application designs & documents here.

We have a tight timeframe due to a combination of delays to the procurement of landowner agreements and the need for some of our funding to be used before the end of the financial year.
If this is something your organisation would like to bid for there are some key dates which are of the essence:

  • Friday 24th January: Guided site visit sand workshop with the appropriate Discover Brightwater and Environment Agency team members.
  • Thursday 6th February: Deadline for clarifications and questions
  • Monday 10th February12 noon: Deadline for submissions
  • End of March 2020: Most of the work must be invoiced and complete

Discover Brightwater is a National Lottery Heritage Funded landscape partnership around the River Skerne in County Durham. The Great North Fen is a major project to create a patchwork of connected wetlands, ponds and river habitats in this area of the Tees Lowlands. The invitation to tender, whilst focussing on Phase 1 anticipates that the successful bidder or bidders (if a consortium) will go on to become a major delivery partner for the whole programme.
The documentation includes ITT 1-3 which stipulates the tender scope and process and also a range of background concept sheets, environmental reports and some earlier design work.
Please do not hesitate to contact Paul Black (email) if you require further information at this stage.
