Mott MacDonald are seeking a Senior Engineer specialising in river engineering. You will be an integral part of the UK-wide Dams, Rivers and Geotechnics team within Mott MacDonald. You will supervise the work of more junior staff and provide technical and professional guidance to aid their development, as well as taking the lead on projects and representing the company in technical meetings.

This role will present you with a fantastic opportunity to further develop your technical and managerial skills, with great prospects for career progression as the business continues to grow.

Candidate Specification

  • Chartered / Incorporated engineer
  • Professional experience of river engineering / river restoration / flood management and / or hydraulic structures
  • Ability and enthusiasm to provide supervision to engineers, technicians and apprentices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams

Job Profile

Our team designs smart and sustainable solutions to flood risk management, river restoration, river realignments, erosion protection, fish pass design and flow control. We are looking for candidates with the drive and skill to take the lead on tasks and work collaboratively with others to deliver vital projects for improving the fluvial environment.

Clients such as the Environment Agency, water utility companies, HS2, contractors and international development agencies trust us to deliver their schemes, and we are looking for senior engineers with relevant experience to help us reward that trust.
