To provide the expert lead on Hydromorphology with a primary focus on freshwaters in EPP Directorate and manage the preparation of NRW policy, programmes, plans, strategies and guidance. This will translate Welsh & UK Government policy into practical approaches to the point of delivery. You will work with colleagues from other teams in EPP and Operations, officials from WG and sector representatives.

Grade 7 – £37,973, Fixed Term Appointment until 31 March 2021, may be possible as a secondment opportunity.

 

Job Purpose

With the diverse nature of NRW’s remit this is an exciting opportunity to work in the Sustainable Water group within the Evidence, Policy and Permitting (EPP) Directorate.  The location is flexible within Wales working as part of the Integrated Water Planning Team.

The role will provide the expert lead on Hydro-morphology across Wales’ waterbodies but with a primary with a focus on freshwaters, and manage the preparation of NRW policy, programmes and guidance developed in this area.  This will involve translating Welsh & UK Government policy into practical approaches for delivery.  The role will also support and lead on some aspects of the wider work of the team including River Basin Management Planning, advising on river restoration projects and pritorities and water related areas of work on Sustainable Management of Natural Resources.  The post holder will work with colleagues from other teams in EPP and Operations, officials from WG and sector representatives.
