Location: Guildhall, London (Hybrid/Flexible working)

Salary: £29,936–£39,629 per annum (depending on experience)

Contract: Fixed-term (1 year), 35 hours per week, with a likely possibility of extension

Thames21 is looking for a River Restoration Officer to join its Improving Rivers team and help deliver ambitious river and wetland restoration projects across London.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong interest in river and wetland ecology to contribute to the planning, development and delivery of nature-based solutions that improve river health and benefit local communities. The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues, contractors, volunteers and a wide range of stakeholders to deliver practical restoration projects across London’s river catchments.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A strong interest in river restoration and wetland ecology
  • Knowledge of river restoration techniques, design and permitting processes
  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders and communities
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions
  • An understanding of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM 2015) is desirable
