Stonbury is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join its Commercial Team in Chawston.

This is an excellent opportunity to support the commercial delivery of projects across the water, wastewater and environmental sectors. Working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will manage commercial activities from pre-construction through to final account while helping deliver sustainable infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing commercial aspects of construction contracts from pre-construction to final account
  • Coordinating the tender process and preparing tender programmes
  • Pricing works from first principles using labour, materials and plant costs
  • Liaising with subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
  • Preparing project budgets and supporting project delivery teams
  • Producing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
  • Managing compensation events and early warning notices under NEC contracts
  • Monitoring project performance through reconciliations and work-in-progress assessments
  • Managing outstanding debt and retentions

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Estimating or a related construction discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience pricing works under NEC contracts
  • Experience pricing works from first principles
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and IT skills
  • A full UK driving licence
