Salary: £45,056–£49,417 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), with flexible working arrangements considered
Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART) is looking for an ambitious and experienced Head of Fundraising & Philanthropy to establish and lead a brand-new fundraising function that will support the long-term future of the Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver BART's fundraising strategy, diversify income streams and secure investment that will directly benefit rivers, wildlife and communities across the Bristol Avon catchment.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will lead the development of sustainable voluntary income through individual giving, philanthropy, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, legacy giving and other unrestricted income opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing BART's Fundraising & Philanthropy Strategy
- Building sustainable unrestricted income from a range of funding sources
- Developing a compelling case for support aligned with BART's Five-Year Strategy
- Leading fundraising campaigns, supporter engagement and communications
- Building and maintaining relationships with major donors, funders and strategic partners
- Managing the supporter journey using Beacon CRM
- Working closely with the CEO, Leadership Team and Board of Trustees to deliver long-term fundraising success
- Ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations and reporting on progress
The successful candidate will have:
- At least five years' experience in fundraising or philanthropy
- Experience developing fundraising strategies and delivering income growth
- Knowledge of trusts and foundations, individual giving, philanthropy or corporate fundraising
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- Strong planning and project management experience
- Experience using CRM systems (Beacon experience is desirable but not essential)
- A passion for environmental conservation and creating meaningful impact
