Stonbury is looking for an experienced Civils Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Commercial Team in Beverley.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the commercial management of civil engineering projects across the water and environmental sectors. The successful candidate will oversee commercial activities from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently while maximising value and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the commercial aspects of construction contracts from pre-construction through to final account
  • Leading financial negotiations and supporting the team in securing new contracts
  • Preparing project budgets and labour pricing schedules
  • Producing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
  • Managing change through early warning notices and compensation events under NEC contracts
  • Monitoring project performance through reconciliations and work-in-progress assessments
  • Managing commercial risk and advising on mitigation strategies
  • Reviewing aged debt and managing outstanding retentions
  • Preparing estimates and responding to enquiries for additional works

The successful candidate will have:

  • An HNC/HND, degree in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience working with NEC contracts
  • Previous estimating experience
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • A full UK driving licence
