Workshop: NFM & ELMS

Date:
Wednesday, December 2, 2020 - 17:00 to 19:00
Location:
Online

The Kent Downs AONB Unit and Darent Valley Landscape Partnership would like to invite you to an online workshop to discuss how the new ELM scheme can be used to help farmers prevent flooding both on their farms and downstream of their farms. Your contribution to this project will help in the development of a new ELM. It is vital that the views of farmers and landowners are part of this process and this is your chance to have your say. To reflect the importance of farmers' views, we are able to pay you a small amount for your attendance. The results of this work will be presented to Defra.

At this workshop you will get the chance to:

  • Find out more about how ELM will be used to support farmers implement Natural Flood Management
  • Hear from Viridian Logic about a tool developed to help farmers identify where Natural Flood Management can be implemented on their land
  • Tell us how you think ELM should be supporting farmers to implement Natural Flood Management projects

Due to ongoing precautions necessary because of Covid-19, these workshops will be held online using Zoom software, which is free to download, or can be accessed via a website. Numbers on this workshop will be limited to 15 to ensure people have the chance for their voice to be heard so do book early.

Each workshop will last for a maximum of 2 hours.  We are able to pay each participant £100 for attending a workshop. If you would like to book a place (or places for colleagues) please contact Mike Phillips at mike@whitehorseecology.co.uk or 01227 652126.
