Location:
Webinar
This webinar will take you through the basics of how to access, open and troubleshoot problems with the desktop CaBA data package.

About this Event

The CaBA data package is a set of over 150 data layers, which is provided to CaBA catchment partnerships under a centrally negotiated license with the data providers. The datasets within the package are key when planning integrated projects that will deliver the greatest impact in your catchment. Having datasets all in one place allows multi-benefit projects to be targeted, designed, funded and delivered by building on a sound evidence base.

This online meetup is an opportunity for those who haven't used the desktop data package before, or are new to desktop GIS, to understand the basics and how to get started exploring the data.

Sign up to learn about:

  • How to access the CaBA data package
  • How to open the CaBA data package in desktop GIS
  • What's the difference between ArcMap & ArcGIS Pro? What about QGIS?
  • Understanding how the files are organised
  • Fixing broken data links
  • Adding new data from ArcGIS online
  • Making the most of the user guide
  • Understanding licencing and when it's okay to share data

Please note, we will be using ArcGIS Pro to demo during this webinar. This is the next generation of Esri desktop GIS software and is available for free to anyone with an ArcGIS desktop licence. Don't forget you could be eligible for the Esri Non-Profit Programme, which offers ArcGIS subscriptions at a highly reduced rate.
