UK Brazil learning - Working with nature for people in river catchments

Date:
Tuesday, April 21, 2015 to Friday, May 1, 2015
Location:
Five UK river basin districts - (nine catchments) from Penrith to London

"We are delighted to welcome you to an exciting programme of  practical days, discussions and talks on integrated catchment management. The River restoration Centre and Institute of Fisheries Management days are independently arranged. 8 free events on 6 days are prompted by an ex MSc student, Carolina Pinto, from Queen Mary University London who worked on the River Blackwater, Hampshire helped organise river basin management plan workshops and river basin district liaison panel May 2014 good practice site visits. Inspired by work in UK, Carolina has now received funding from state government and partners in Brazil for a project “re-naturalize” in the Mangarai catchment, north of Rio in Vitoria. The additional 8 events were mostly things on to-do lists; it just made sense to join it all up when colleagues from Brazil could make it to enhance the impact, outreach and legacy. We hope you enjoy taking part and that the events prove worthwhile locally. We are most grateful to sponsors in kind and for funding this – thank you. Please circulate this invitation to your contacts and welcome them to attend.  Looking forward to catching up with you!” Carolina and Dominic.
