Reducing flood risk through storage, how does it all work? An Environment Agency perspective webinar

Date:
Wednesday, November 22, 2023 - 17:00 to 18:30
Location:
Online

Flood storage reservoirs are becoming a common and effective way for Risk Management Authorities to mitigate the risks of flooding on fluvial catchments.

This event will describe the processes involved in utilising these assets during a flood event. We will look to understand better the modelling and forecasting involved before, during and after a rainfall event and how this information feeds into the decision making processes. We will also investigate who is involved in basin operations and how this is managed ‘on site’.

This theory will be applied to two real world Environment Agency flood storage assets in the North West, Didsbury and Salford.

Members and non-members are welcome to attend this technical talk.
