Geophysics for Environmental Scientists

Date:
Monday, May 11, 2020 - 09:00 to Friday, May 15, 2020 - 17:00
Location:
Keele University

We would like to inform you that we are again running a NERC-funded 5-day residential 'geophysical skills development for environmental scientists' course, co-run with RSK Geophysics Ltd.

The Geological Society Accredited course is designed for postgraduate research students and early career researchers who wish to learn about the theory, practice and real-world application of environmental geophysics for research and career development.

It involves a five-day Keele-based workshop where attendees will learn theory, then undertake geophysical data collection, processing and integration of a range of near-surface geophysical instrumentation commonly used in environmental research (e.g., GPR, electrical resistivity, microgravity, electromagnetic and magnetic techniques, seismics, etc.).

Preference is given to NERC funded PhD students and postdoctoral early career researchers, but  non-NERC funded students/ECRS are also encouraged to apply. For more information as well as a link to the application form please visit the course website.
