This months edition focuses on the EU LIFE+ RESTORE project.
The RRC works with the Environment Agency to produce a deculverting strategy for Northern England. This months bulletin also provides updates on restoration sites in the Thames region.
Outputs are released from the West Region RESTORE event on River Restoration Design and Delivery. Elsewhere the Environment Agency outline the 10 most improved rivers in England and Wales.
This years policy developments in the UK are outlined and RRC members enjoyed a site visit to the River Dove.
Members visited the award winning scheme on the Beam Washlands. The RRC also ran a best practice river restoration, construction and design workshop.
The outputs of the annual conference are published online and Dr Werner Lazowski wins a years free RRC membership through a competition based on the EU LIFE+ RESTORE project.
Over 200 people attended the RRCs annual conference. There were nearly 30 seminars and 3 site visits, it was a very successful event. Elsewhere, RESTORE inform and communicate best practice for river restoration.
A project to divert and reconnect Ply Brook in South London is completed and a time lapse video of works on the River Nar is produced.
A number of restoration actiities are outlined, including meander creation at Cradley Heath and habitat enhancement on the River Nar.
