This year Severn Trent partnered the River Restoration Centre for their annual UK River Prize awards. We believe that protecting our water environment through catchment management is essential to help build resilience and sustainability for wildlife and water resources in the future. The projects submitted for the 2018 UK River Prize demonstrate a vast variety of innovative techniques being used to achieve this. It was especially pleasing to see two of the finalists coming from the Severn Trent region:
- Love Your River Telford; which our local operational team have been supporting
- Tame Valley Wetlands Landscape Partnership; which delivers excellent partnership work within the Tame, Anker and Mease CaBA partnership which Severn Trent host.
The UK River Prize awards were created to “inspire and celebrate innovation and best practice in river restoration and catchment management”. The winning projects have certainly inspired us as a company to continue our drive to deliver bold ambitions on biodiversity, catchment management, sustainable abstraction, and WFD improvements.
