Introducing Nicola

Nicola joined us at the beginning of September as the new RRC administrator! She has written a few words for us.

Hello my name is Nicola and I have recently joined the River Restoration Centre as the team’s Administrator. After taking a degree in Law and Waste Management I went on to work in educational establishments, most recently as an Administrator in an Academy School.  I am very excited to be back working in the environmental sector and look forward to supporting our small but dedicated team. I have a personal interest in the river environment, and feel that it has a magical quality which I have not experienced anywhere else.

As a keen kayaker I enjoy spending days out on the river and have recently taken up ‘stand up paddle’, which is actually a lot easier than it looks! I also enjoy running and am a member of a local running group, occasionally taking part in races. I will soon be taking part in a relay race where each of the three participants have to run 18k, the furthest I have run to date, so wish me luck! I also enjoy spending time with family and friends and will continue to volunteer with the Duke of Edinburgh group at the school where I used to work.

As well as supporting the RRC team with general administrative duties, I will be administrating the Membership, so if you have any enquiries I will be happy to help. I am particularly looking forward to helping to organise and attending  the RRC’s Annual Conference in April so look forward to meeting with you then.

Thanks Nicola! As Nicola alluded to, the 17th RRC Annual Network Conference will be taking place on 26th – 27th April 2016 in Blackpool. Bookings open in November. Also If you would like to renew your membership or become a member of the RRC, or for any other membership queries please contact Nicola.
