Water quality improvement of a chain of lakes that buffer urban runoff to the local river catchment. Supply and installation of pre-vegetated coir rolls to existing banks as an alternative to major bank re-profiling.

Smarts Heath SSSI, South-east England (Completed Date: Nov 2010)

Restoration of existing waterway, adjacent wet heathland and hydrology of the SSSI including flood alleviation measures to prevent flooding of an adjacent highway. Levels survey, site investigation and consultation with regulators to agree and design strategy. Re-profiling of waterway using Hazel revetments woven in-situ to create precise contours and provide temporary support to reinstated soil banks, creation of one and restoration of two on-line balancing pools.
