We are reviewing the High Weald AONB Management Plan (on behalf of our 15 local authority partners) and need your specialist input on the geology, landform, water & climate component of natural beauty.
AONB Management Plans guide the management of the nation's protected landscapes and are a statutory requirement of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act (CROW) 2000. The High Weald AONB Managment Plan is an evidence-based document that sets out the priorities for the area - including future agri-environment schemes - as well as providing a means for you and others to assess and comment on the impact of development on the landscape's special character.
The event will consist of a combination of presentations and discussion groups:
- 10 - 10.30 Registration, refreshments & warm-up exercise
- 10.30 Purpose of the Plan and the significance of the area's geology, landform, water & climate
- 10.40 What has been achieved since the last plan
- 10.55 Issues affecting geology, landform, water & climate in the High Weald
- 11.25 Refreshments
- 11.40 Guest speaker: Andy Thomas, Conservation Officer at the Wild Trout Trust
