This course provides an introduction to the subject of dredging and will assist those who are responsible for commissioning and managing dredging contractors and those who regulate dredging. Our expert tutors will provide an overview of the environmental aspects of dreding, the latest technology and equipment, and the management of dredged material.
Over the two days, delegates will explore multiple aspects of a dreding project. Course modules include:
- An explanation of definitions and terminology
- An introduction to the different types of dredging (e.g. capital, maintenance, aggregate, deep water)
- Dredging plant description
- The components of a dredging project (e.g. planning, licences, contracts, environmental aspects, understanding and managing works, potential disputes/claims and their avoidance).
