Beyond the National Flood Resilience Review: Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities

Date:
Wednesday, December 7, 2016 - 09:00
Location:
Central London

This conference will provide an up to date picture of the preparedness for Winter 2016/17, the lessons learnt from government, critical infrastructure providers and a wide range of other stakeholders taking a longer term view towards the requirements for delivering flood resilience. Going beyond the immediate scope of the National Flood Resilience Review, this event will identify the best opportunities to collaborate and focus investment where it can deliver the widest benefits.

The session will include:

  • Understanding how infrastructure providers are improving their own flood resilience
  • Hearing about good practice and the wide range of vulnerable assets to be protected
  • Discussing the key lessons learned from Winter 2015/2016 floods
  • Learning how key infrastructure providers can engage effectively with communities as part of managing risk
  • Debating priorities for future action to build resilience beyond the scope of the National Flood Resilience Review
